We Mourn the Loss of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej
Pray for Thailand อธิษฐานเพื่อประเทศไทย
Asia-Pacific International University pays homage to HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej. We extend our sympathies and prayers to the people and country of Thailand.
Bangkok post reported that, "His Majesty passed away peacefully at Chalermphrakiet Building of Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok it was announced in a national broadcast," and that all of the Royal Family was present.
The Bible promises when Jesus comes again, "God will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." (Revelation 21:4)
"พระองค์จะทรงซับน้ำตาทุกๆ หยดของพวกเขา จะไม่มีความตาย หรือการคร่ำครวญ หรือการร่ำไห้ หรือความเจ็บปวดรวดร้าวอีกต่อไป เพราะระบบเก่าได้ผ่านพ้นไปแล้ว” (วิวรณ์ 21:4)
University President, Dr. Danny Rantung, expressed his condolences this morning as follows:
We were very saddened to hear the Thailand’s Royal Palace announcement last night that HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej died at Bangkok’s Siriraj Hospital. Our hearts go out to the people of Thailand in this time of grief and sadness. You are not alone in your pain as the prayers of our University family are that God will hold you in His everlasting arms and give you peace, comfort, and hope in the soon return of our Lord Jesus.
We understand that Thai people have been blessed by the work HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej. He was, “a tireless champion of this country’s development and demonstrated unflagging devotion to improving the standard of living of the Thai people. His Majesty leaves a legacy of care for the Thai people that will be cherished by future generations.” And his life of unceasing dedicated service is a legacy to those of us who remain to work faithfully for God untill the very end of our lives.
May God be your strength and salvation during this difficult time, as we have the promise: "The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower" (Psalm 18:2).
In relation to the official announcement last night by the Prime Minister of Thailand Prayut Chan-ocha that the country would hold a one-year mourning period, we would like to inform our campus community to kindly refrain from having celebrational parties for a month, and if possible, the teachers and staff are advised to wear sombre and respectful clothing (black or white) for a month. Foreigners have been advised to respect the feelings and sensitivities of the Thai people at this time and behave respectfully when in public areas.
The University is planning to have a special vesper program this evening, at 7:00 pm at the Auditorium and memorial service program. Further details will be announced as soon as possible.
May God bless the people of Thailand during this time of grief.
With warmest regards,
President, Asia-Pacific International University
