Over the four-years, English majors will develop each of the four English language macro skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) to a high degree of proficiency.

The highly competitive professional environment of the 21st century requires excellent English language skills. A job applicant without the ability to use English confidently, accurately, fluently and in a variety of contexts is immediately disadvantaged.

The Bachelor of Arts in English programs are designed to:

  1. Prepare students to meet these challenges where effective interpersonal and international communication in English is the key to success.

  2. Produce well-rounded individuals, capable of serving well in their chosen professions and in the communities in which they live.
