More than twenty-five people from Walla-Walla University and Asia-Pacific International University visited the Saraburi Girls’ Orphanage last Saturday afternoon, September 8, 2018. Teaching action Christian songs and playing with the orphans were among the activities that took place at the orphanage. “It was very, very fun,” commented Anyarat Leerattanawongsakul, a junior English Thai program major who also served as one of the translators on-site.

Dr Pedrito Maynard-Reid, Walla-Walla University program leader, commented that the visitation went well, and expressed his thanks to Asia-Pacific for working with them to arrange this special Outreach program. He commented that the visitation to the orphanage was “much more alive than last year’s”. Dr Pedrito added, “It was like old times”.
Indeed, visiting the orphanage was a familiar outreach activity as the mission group make it a point to visit the orphans every time they are in Thailand. This year marks the 16th consecutive year of Walla Walla University’s mission and cultural trip to the Land of Smiles.

We thank the Walla Walla University mission group for their willingness and sacrifice to serve in our community, and we pray for their safe journey as they make their way back to the US this week.
