In October 2019, the Thai government attended the conference meeting at the United Nations High Commissioner for the Refugees (UNHCR) office in Geneva, Switzerland, to promote access to education for stateless children.
Both Asia-Pacific International University and Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Thailand signed a ‘Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)’ for providing scholarships to stateless children and youth. This event happened on December 9, 2019, at the Mission Faculty of Nursing conference room, Bangkok Campus, Asia-Pacific International University.
Asia-Pacific International University cooperates and supports this project by giving 15 Bachelor degree scholarships to stateless children and youth. These children and youth could use their diploma as evidence to acquire Thai citizenship if they were born in Thailand even when there is no recorded data of their parents in the Civil Registration Database.
