Asia-Pacific International University (AIU) recently welcomed Pastor Zheng Dayou and ten students from Sahmyook University in South Korea for a meaningful cultural and spiritual exchange program. The visiting group arrived on January 21st to volunteer and share Korean culture with the AIU community during their winter break.
Throughout the week-long visit, the exchange program offered AIU students unique opportunities for cross-cultural learning and spiritual growth. Pastor Zheng delivered messages to Chinese students from Wednesday through Saturday, culminating in a special Sabbath program organized by the Chinese Club at the Mission Health Promotion Center (MHPC).
During his Sabbath presentation on “True Obedience,” Pastor Zheng used memorable illustrations, such as comparisons between a Ferrari and a tricycle, and references to the cradle of Moses and Noah’s ark, to convey his message: we need self-discipline that matches our abilities, and when we need God’s help, we must let go of ourselves and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us.
In addition to the spiritual programs, the visiting students, who actually major in social welfare, facilitated Korean cultural activities on Sabbath afternoon for Chinese students. These activities included traditional games, making Dalgona, and trying on Hanbok, providing a hands-on opportunity for cultural learning and interaction.
The visit concluded on Sunday with an open cultural event for the wider AIU student body. The visiting Korean group prepared Korean-style noodles, shared traditional snacks, and socialized with many of our students.
AIU is grateful for the visit of Pastor Zheng Dayou and the Sahmyook University students, and extends its best wishes to the visitors in their future studies.
