
The Business Law class at Asia-Pacific International University in Thailand recently took a trip to the Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court, also known as the IP & IT Court. The trip was held on November 10th and was attended by 18 students and one lecturer, Mr. Franki Mantiri. Upon arrival, the students were welcomed with refreshments and given a court tour.
The students were able to learn about Intellectual Property and International Trade, with a focus on Thailand. They visited two different courtrooms and experienced what happens during court procedures. The trip culminated with a visit to the library, where the students could access all IT and IP resources.
One student remarked that the trip was “amazing” and that they learned much about international trade and intellectual property and the basic regulations that everyone must follow. It was interesting to find out that this IP & IT court is the biggest in Asia and was the first to switch to virtual court hearings for civil cases during the pandemic.
