On November 9 and 10, 2023, we had two workshop sessions presented by Juan Farrel Eugene Tombeng, Arthur Boy Paraja, and Christian Notarisa Sipayung, three AIU graduates from the IT faculty. Check the poster for this event in this link:
The first session was an advisory workshop directed towards Senior and Junior students by the presenters Juan Tombeng and Arthur Paraja. The focus of this session was the development and planning of SDP (System Development Project), also known as Senior Project.
The presentation highlighted the importance of time management, requirement assessment, and milestone planning. Students were encouraged to start planning for their senior project and stick to their skills to have a realistic view of the expected outcomes.
At the end of the session, students were invited to have one-on-one sessions with the presenters to have more tailored assessments according to their needs.
On day two, we invited students from all academic levels from the Faculty of IT to join the presentation; this time, Christian Notarisa joined us online and also participated in the presentation. This presentation focused on preparing IT students for the professional world by sharing experiences as IT workers nowadays. Emphasizing the importance of having a professional-looking CV or Resume was also highlighted as students were asked to create a CV ahead of time to be evaluated by the Alumni.
The crucial parts of a CV were emphasized as Mr. Juan and Mr. Arthur evaluated the students’ work. At the end of the presentation, those who stood out were given a polo shirt for their excellent work.
Dr. Joel Gakwaya, Mr. Phaneendra Puppala, and Dr. Kamolnan demonstrated their appreciation to the presenters by awarding them a certificate for their hard work.
