“Ten Days of Prayer creates space for students to slow down and intentionally seek God, especially at the beginning of a new academic term.”
Asia-Pacific International University (AIU) joined Seventh-day Adventist institutions worldwide in observing the annual Ten Days of Prayer, held January 7–17, bringing together students, faculty, and staff for a period of spiritual renewal, reflection, and community worship.
“Ten Days of Prayer creates space for students to slow down and intentionally seek God, especially at the beginning of a new academic term,” said one student participant. “Many of us are far from home, so the Ten Days of Prayer becomes a meaningful source of peace and belonging.”
Organized as part of the global Adventist Church calendar, the Ten Days of Prayer provides structured opportunities for participants to attend daily worship services, Bible study, and small-group prayer. Sessions are crafted to encourage deeper personal faith, meaningful reflection, and a stronger feeling of community.
This year’s theme, “Unleashed,” underscored personal spiritual growth and intentional devotion. Each session began with a devotional message by the campus pastor, followed by group discussions and prayer. Participants got into small groups, which allowed students to engage with scripture, share insights and opinions, and pray together—often in their preferred languages—reflecting AIU’s diverse international community.
Throughout the ten days, participants took part in worship music, Scripture reflection, group discussions, and personal and collective prayer. These activities fostered both spiritual growth and stronger bonds among all participants.
AIU’s commitment to holistic education extends beyond the classroom. Events like Ten Days of Prayer reflect the university’s approach to student life: nurturing spiritual well-being in addition to intellectual and social development as students navigate academic demands and life far from home.
Ten Days of Prayer supports students’ emotional and spiritual well-being alongside their academic journey.
