Barnabas Scholarship
Scholarship Description
The “Barnabas Scholarship” is a scholarship that will be awarded to students pursuing any of the degrees offered in the Faculty of Science (FoS)
Currently, the scholarships that are available in the FoS are awarded with a criterion that includes a high GPA While this is good, they overlook diligent students who are not “A” students. It seems only fair that the efforts of these students with GPAs that are lower than 2. 8 should also be rewarded. This scholarship fills this gap by awarding diligent students who have shown a good work ethic and have improved and/or maintained a good GPA.
There is also the consideration that, often, students need to work in order to contribute toward their school fees and the number of hours spent working on campus make it difficult for them to achieve “A”s in their classes. They should be encouraged.
Barnabas, the name of one of Paul’s companions in the New Testament, means “Son of Encouragement“(Acts 4:36 NIV), and the FoS has established this scholarship to encourage our students to both work hard and study hard.
The award will be a maximum of 15,000 Baht per student with a maximum of three awardees per academic year.
Criteria:
- Enrolled in any program in the Faculty of Science
- CGPA of less than 2.8
- Demonstration of an improvement in the GPA in the last 2 semesters
- Working at least 10 hours per week on campus
- Financial need
