AIU Back Road Fixing Project

Dec 6, 2023 | 2023, Latest News

Update
Mr. Subin Putsom (University General Manager) sent an email to the AIU Faculty & Staff on Thursday 07 (Dec. 2023) thanking the people and groups involved. His email gives some details regarding the groups involved, the coverage of the repair, and the amount of funds collected for the project.

The Asia-Pacific International University has undertaken a road repair project for the entrance road to Moma Keal Village, starting from the Friendship Road intersection to the front of the Health Promotion Nutrition Center. The total distance covered is approximately 1.5 kilometers. This project has received support from fellow members at AIU, AIMS School, and various nearby organizations, as well as contributions from villagers along this route.

The total amount of support reached 43,570 Baht, including funds for water and food from the village’s community organization.

During this initiative, community members, students, and professors worked diligently and sacrificed to repair the mentioned road. There are also 77 bags of ready-made asphalt and additional cash set aside for future repairs if there are potholes in the road. These resources are kept at the University’s guardhouse, and individuals interested in road maintenance can access them immediately.

On this occasion, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to this project.

Mr. Subin Putsom (University General Manager)

On December 5, 2023, a collaborative effort between Southeastern Asia Union Mission (SEUM), Asia-Pacific International University (AIU), and Adventist International Mission School (AIMS) took place to repair the back road of AIU. This joint project aimed to enhance accessibility and overall community welfare.

From 8 am to 12 noon, administrators, professors from various faculties, staff, and students of AIU gathered to participate actively in the road repair initiative. The enthusiastic involvement of the AIU community showcased a strong sense of unity and commitment to local development. This demonstration of collective effort aligns with the biblical principle found in Galatians 6:2: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

The spirit of community support was further exemplified as neighbors generously contributed to the project. Some provided refreshing drinking water, while others prepared food. Fruits were also brought in abundance, demonstrating a collective effort to ensure the well-being of those involved in the restoration work. This harmonious collaboration echoes the biblical values of hospitality and kindness, encapsulated in Hebrews 13:16: “Do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”

The project’s positive impact extends beyond the university grounds, benefiting not only AIU but also the Mission Hospital Promotion Center (MHPC), and SEUM. The improved back road facilitates smoother transportation and contributes to a positive and inviting image for the entire community. This resonates with the biblical call to be good stewards of the environment and resources we are entrusted with (Gen 2:15).

The husband of the deputy Chief of Moo 3 (village 3) demonstrated commendable community engagement by contributing his skills and resources to enhance local infrastructure. His expertise in road maintenance was particularly showcased as he skillfully used tar and a Pothole patcher machine to smooth out the road. This reflects a strong sense of community responsibility and aligns with the biblical principle of being good stewards of the resources and skills we possess.

This collaborative initiative is a testament to the collective strength and commitment of SEUM, AIU, and AIMS. It reflects a shared vision for community development and a dedication to making a positive difference. We extend heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed their time, resources, and efforts to make this project successful.

Thank you all for your valuable contributions towards creating a better, more connected community.
