The fun run-walk is an annual event organized by the faculty of arts and humanities since 2012. A group of teachers wanted to help a family in need, and after much thought, they decided to organize a fundraising event. The main objective has always been to raise funds for those in need in the community. The secondary objective is to promote healthy lifestyle activities such as running, jogging, and walking.
This year, the event raised 38,000 Baht. The first fun run-walk in 2012 raised over 10,000 baht, and we have been able to help many families and communities with the funds raised since then.

We asked some students how they felt about the event. Here’s what some of them had to say:
“I love that this event collects funds to support a great cause. I thought that this cause makes the event more pleasant, knowing that I walked/ran to help people in need. I also like that the university promotes and supports a healthy lifestyle through exercise and fellowship. They are inclusive of people in all age groups, and everyone has a good time. I hope that the university can hold more events like this to support communities who are in need.”

“During this pandemic, I feel like the Fun Run-Walk is making a significant impact to not only the students at the Asia-Pacific International University (AIU), but also to the needy families in the community.”
– Chan Nyein
“This was a very meaningful activity to me not only because it helped the needy but because when I knew I could help someone with just a small donation. It warmed my heart and made me happy knowing I was part of such a meaningful activity.”
