The Senior Workplace Preparedness Seminar took place on October 9, 2018 (Sunday) from 8:30 am to 12 noon at IT 328 at Vijayasapha Building. The program, organized by the Faculty of Business Administration, covered topics such as job demand areas, job interview preparation and etiquette, resume preparation and job interview sharing experiences from AIU alumni.

One of the speakers, Dr Surapee Sorajjakool shared, “Job interview doesn’t start when you come in and sit. It starts as you step into the company.” She continued how interviewees must be enthusiastic during the interview, as to let the interviewer see that they really want the job. Interviewees should also answer each question with a lot of eagerness

She shared that some people may be successful in their first interview and some may not. Nonetheless, it will be a good interview experience. She added, “As a Christian, we look at life with positivity. It not may be easy so be positive the way you look at life.” In addition, Dr Surapee also encouraged students to learn outside of classrooms as well.

One of the alumni, Mr Parinya Janrawangyot stated, “Believe what you are capable of. If an average student like me can do it, so can you!” Mr Parinya shared how he nailed his interviews experiences with the Embassy of Ireland, Bangkok.

Mr Wandath Seng, also an AIU alumnus, shared, “Job interview is like a first date. You have to prepare yourself very well.”
Biology major Phearom Ly commented, “I learned more on how to build a strong resume and a cover letter. I also could see how the processes work not only during the interview, but from the beginning when we are searching for jobs. This seminar shows me how to be confident and learn the methods on how to advertise myself for the position.”

Jidi Mois, an Education major responded, “This program opens up a new set of perception regarding to interviews. Some exposure to different types of questions that possibly be asked in the interview gives a picture of how an interview will go. I’m able to update my resume better with the help of some experienced teachers. The mock interview was the best part of the program.”

The Senior Workplace Preparedness Seminar is a program which helps prepare Asia-Pacific International University graduating seniors the real world of job searching and be knowledgeable about the preparation as well as the process of career path.
