The purpose of this event was to help the senior students prepare for employment, support them in their job search, and reduce the challenges they will face during job interviews.
The program was divided into two parts: Plenary Session and Workshop. For the plenary session, Dr. Adelino Libato, the School Administrator from California Prep International School, was the guest speaker.
Dr. Libato delivered topics related to skills and competencies that our students must have in the 21st century. He also shared some valuable guidelines for making a CV or resume, allowing seniors to be aware of necessary components that go with related skills employers would look for.
To make this program more helpful and meaningful, students were allowed to ask the speaker questions during the question-and-answer session.
Another exciting event highlight was the workshop session with mock interviews with other departments involved. Each department was stationed in different locations. Students went to their respective stations. The resource persons conducted the interviews who were our AIU faculty professors and instructors.
As participants, the senior students had an opportunity to experience the process of an interview, which allowed them to learn and have an idea of what to expect from an interview and other important aspects that matter.
We look forward to witnessing another Senior Workplace Preparedness Seminar and would encourage all our senior students to prepare, advance their careers, positively impact their lives, and succeed in the future.
