HUMAN BEHAVIOR, DEVELOPMENT & SOCIETY (HBDS) is a refereed multidisciplinary journal that explores a wide range of scholarly topics, especially in fields relating to the humanities and social sciences. It is published online four times a year and is available free of charge through the ThaiJo and Asia-Pacific International University (AIU) websites, with a limited number of hard copies available. The journal, originally entitled Catalyst, has been published since 2006 by Asia-Pacific International University, Muak Lek, Thailand, through its publishing arm Institute Press.
The journal has the following objectives:
- To stimulate the creation and synthesis of beneficial information, as well as its broad dissemination, especially in the varied fields of the humanities and social sciences,
- To foster a deeper understanding regarding the impact of business policies and practices on society, and
- To promote the adoption of best practices in communities through education, and to aid in the resolution of community issues for the betterment of society; this represents the development aspect referred to in its name.
Editorial Objectives
The editorial objectives are to advance knowledge through use of classical – or the creation of innovative – methods of investigation, and to foster the examination of cross-cultural issues to increase mutual understandings among diverse social groups. Encouraging cooperative studies and scholarly exchange across borders, as well as within Thailand, remains one of its aims. The application of theoretical considerations to the field, business, or community situations is also an outcome that is sought.
Publishing Schedule
HUMAN BEHAVIOR, DEVELOPMENT & SOCIETY is published four times per year by Institute Press during the months of March, June, September, and December.
